A Lesson I Learned From The Ultimate Master Mind

On June 7th, 1776, When Richard Henry Lee proposed that a document should be compiled detailing our desire to separate from Great Britain, he started a process that would bring together the greatest Master Mind in History. In less than a month, the document was finished and had been read to excited crowds in New York, Philadelphia and Easton, Pennsylvania. That document is The Declaration of Independence, the first such writing ever written and implemented. It created a Free People, one not subject to the whims of a king or a dictator.

How was this incredible document conceived in the first place? It was not through sheer chance that over 60 men came together in Philadelphia one hot summer in 1776. The circumstances in America were such that they met to discuss what had o be done. Britain and America were at war, one that had no focus and no ultimate goal. Something had to be done or the rebellion would soon be squashed and any thoughts of independence would become mere memories.
In Philadelphia, these men became the Greatest Master Mind in human history. They had a goal in mind, and were well aware of the consequences of failure. What they did would either result in triumph or all 56 of the signers would have ended up at the end of a noose. Those things propelled them to write from their hearts, and craft a work that has inspired billions of people who came after its publication.
These men had Everything to lose, including their lives and their fortunes. They put Everything they owned on the line for their Goal. What have you put on the line for Your Goals?
John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams and John Adams were among the signers of the Declaration. Two of them would become President of the United States, while more than a dozen of them became governors of their states. The major missing name is that of George Washington. He left the Congress before the document was drafted to help defend Boston from an aggressive British attack.
What other Master Minds do you look up to?
